FurBabySit LLC — Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Overview
This Refund & Cancellation Policy (“Policy”) explains how cancellations, refunds, and payment adjustments are handled for transactions facilitated through the FurBabySit platform (“Platform”).
By booking or providing pet care services through FurBabySit, you agree to this Policy as part of our Terms of Service.
FurBabySit is a marketplace platform that connects independent pet care providers (“Sitters”) with clients (“Pet Parents”). Each Sitter determines their own service rates, scheduling, and cancellation terms. FurBabySit facilitates payment processing and refund coordination through Stripe, its third-party payment processor, but does not directly provide or guarantee services.
2. Sitter Cancellations
If a Sitter cancels a confirmed booking, the Pet Parent will receive a full refund of all fees paid for that booking.

Sitters who cancel bookings for any reason will forfeit all payouts related to that booking.

Frequent cancellations by a Sitter may result in account review or suspension under the Trust & Safety Policy.

Sitters are encouraged to cancel only when unavoidable (e.g., emergencies or safety concerns).
3. Pet Parent Cancellations
Each Sitter establishes their own cancellation policy, which is visible on their profile or at the time of booking. Pet Parents are responsible for reviewing these terms before confirming a booking.
When a Pet Parent cancels:

The refund amount, if any, will be determined by the Sitter’s posted cancellation policy.

FurBabySit does not override Sitter-specific cancellation terms unless a verified incident or policy violation occurred.

Refunds outside a Sitter’s stated policy may be granted only after a case review conducted by FurBabySit Support.
4. Incident-Based Refund Requests
Refunds or credits may be considered when a Pet Parent believes the service was not completed as agreed, or if an issue arose during the booking (e.g., safety concern, non-performance, injury, or damage).
To initiate a review:

Submit a report using the Incident Report Form on the FurBabySit website.

Provide all requested details, including the Booking ID, incident description, and supporting documentation.

FurBabySit will acknowledge receipt and review the matter promptly.
Refund determinations are made case-by-case following a fair review of all available information.
FurBabySit’s decision on refund eligibility is final.
5. Refund Processing
If a refund is approved:

Funds will be coordinated and issued through Stripe, usually within 5–10 business days after determination.

Refunds are returned to the original payment method used by the Pet Parent.

Sitters may have their payouts withheld, reversed, or adjusted if the refund pertains to their booking.
Refunds are issued only for completed investigations and verified claims.
FurBabySit may decline refund requests that are unsupported, fraudulent, or unrelated to the Platform.
6. Payout Withholdings and Adjustments
Sitters acknowledge that all payouts are conditional upon:

Completion of services as agreed; and

Compliance with FurBabySit’s policies and applicable laws.
FurBabySit reserves the right to pause, delay, or reverse payouts while investigating:

Reported incidents or disputes;

Safety or policy violations; or
-
Refund requests under review.
If a refund is approved after a payout has been made, the Sitter authorizes FurBabySit and Stripe to debit or offset future earnings to recover the refunded amount.
7. Non-Refundable Fees
Certain fees are non-refundable, including:

Platform service fees;
-
Background check fees;
-
Administrative or processing costs incurred before cancellation.
These fees cover transaction handling, security screening, and operational overhead.
8. No Guarantee of Refunds
Except as required by law or explicitly provided under this Policy, FurBabySit does not guarantee refunds or credits. Refunds are a discretionary remedy subject to review and verification.
By booking through the Platform, you acknowledge that Sitters are independent contractors, not employees of FurBabySit, and that FurBabySit does not assume responsibility for Sitter performance or conduct.
9. Fraud and Abuse Prevention
Submitting false, misleading, or fraudulent refund claims may constitute fraud under state law and will result in account termination and potential referral to authorities.
All refund requests are reviewed for accuracy and compliance with this Policy and the Terms of Service.
10. Policy Updates
FurBabySit may update this Policy periodically to reflect operational or legal changes. The “Last Updated” date above indicates the effective version. Continued use of the Platform after notice of updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
