FurBabySit LLC — Trust & Safety Policy

1. Purpose
FurBabySit LLC (“FurBabySit,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to maintaining a safe, reliable, and transparent community for every pet, pet parent, and sitter who uses our platform.
This Trust & Safety Policy (“Policy”) outlines the measures we take to promote user safety, prevent fraud, and protect the welfare of animals in our care network.
2. Scope
This Policy applies to all users of the FurBabySit platform, including Pet Parents, Sitters, and any individuals who create accounts or communicate through the Platform.
It supplements our Terms of Service, Refund & Cancellation Policy, and Privacy Policy, which together govern all activity on the Platform.
3. Community Standards
All users agree to:

Treat animals, property, and people with respect and care.

Communicate honestly and promptly.

Follow applicable animal-welfare, safety, and local regulations.

Report incidents or concerns truthfully through the Incident Report Form.
Any behavior involving abuse, neglect, fraud, harassment, or dishonesty violates these standards and may result in immediate account removal.
4. Screening and Verification
To uphold platform integrity:

Background Checks: All Sitters and Pet Parents must successfully complete a background check before activation.

Annual Re-Verification: All active users are re-screened annually through FurBabySit’s authorized screening partner (currently Checkr).

Grace Period: Failure to consent to re-verification within 30 days = automatic account termination.

Continuous Monitoring: If new criminal or safety-related information arises, FurBabySit may immediately suspend or remove the associated account pending investigation.
By maintaining an account, users authorize FurBabySit to perform onboarding and periodic checks necessary to ensure community safety.
5. Zero Tolerance Standards
FurBabySit enforces Zero Tolerance for:

Animal abuse, neglect, or abandonment.

Violence, threats, or harassment toward any user.
-
Misrepresentation, falsification of identity, or fraudulent claims.

Off-platform solicitation, payment, or service arrangements.
-
Violation of applicable animal-control or licensing laws.
Confirmed violations result in immediate account termination and may be referred to law-enforcement authorities.
6. Incident Reporting and Investigation
6.1 Reporting Process
Users must report any safety, welfare, or policy concern using the Incident Report Form available on the FurBabySit website.
Reports should include: Booking ID, date/time, location, description, and any supporting evidence (photos, videos, or documentation).
6.2 Review Procedure

All reports are acknowledged upon receipt and reviewed by FurBabySit Support.

FurBabySit may contact involved parties for clarification or evidence.

Findings are evaluated in good faith based on available information.

Determinations regarding account actions, refunds, or warnings are final.
6.3 Confidentiality
All reports are handled confidentially and in accordance with FurBabySit’s Privacy Policy.
Information may be shared only as necessary to complete an investigation or as required by law.
7. Safety Actions and Account Enforcement
FurBabySit may, at its sole discretion:

Suspend or terminate accounts for safety concerns, policy breaches, or fraudulent activity;

Delay or withhold payouts pending investigation;

Remove content or reviews linked to confirmed misconduct;

Refer serious matters to law enforcement or animal-control agencies.
Account reinstatement following suspension is not guaranteed and is evaluated case-by-case.
8. Off-Platform Interactions
To maintain record integrity and protect users:

All communications, bookings, and payments must occur through the Platform.

FurBabySit is not responsible for incidents or losses resulting from off-platform interactions.

Incidents arising from off-platform communications will not be eligible for review under this Policy or for refund consideration.
9. Insurance and Risk Disclosure
FurBabySit does not currently provide company-wide insurance coverage. Users are encouraged to maintain their own pet-care or liability insurance as appropriate.
Once insurance coverage becomes available, this section will be updated to reflect applicable protections or claim procedures.
10. User Responsibilities
Each user is responsible for:

Supervising pets at all times during care;
-
Providing accurate information about pets’ needs and behavior;

Maintaining safe environments;
-
Cooperating fully during any safety review.
Failure to comply may result in loss of Platform access or forfeiture of payouts.
11. False or Fraudulent Reports
All information submitted through the Incident Report Form must be truthful and accurate.
Knowingly submitting false or misleading information may constitute fraud under state law and will result in permanent account removal and potential referral to authorities.
12. Policy Updates
FurBabySit may update this Policy periodically to align with evolving safety standards or legal requirements.
The “Last Updated” date above indicates the current effective version.
Continued Platform use after notice of updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
